The Capital Building

The stained glass dome covering the Supreme Court was originally suppose to be the one on top of the Capital building, but they found out is was too large and heavy to lift that high in one piece.

Another item I found really interesting is that one of my favorite quotes of the Bible found in John 8:32 which states: "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" was posted on the wall in the House. It is situated so that the speaker of the House will always be looking at it.

After our tour, Bob took a few of us on a tour around the grounds. This is a beautiful location and we walked down by the River to the memorial for fallen soldiers. It is hard to discribe the feeling of loss that I felt when reading many of the names starting with men who died back in the 1,700's up through those who were lost in the war in Iraq. The culmination of the memorial is the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial bridge which spans across the Susquahanna River.

From there Bob took us over to his condo just off the River and what an amazing view he has of the area. I could see Barb is not only a fantastic cook, but also has a flair for interior decorating.
