Saturday in Vancouver

We awoke to a slightly overcast morning and after a leisurely breakfast, a group of us left the ship and walked over to Granville Island. The island is one of Susan and my favorite places to visit, especially the wonderful market. This is the first time that we had walked across the Granville street bridge and the view down into the harbour with all the marinas and Grandville Island itself is well worth the hike. I also had a chance to visit the Atkinson's gallery, which is the first time they have been open while we were in town.

While waiting for the Granville Island Brewery to open at noon, we were entertained by an individual who thought he could slip by a turning bus who had the right away and he learned a lesson in physics that a small mass will lose to a large mass most of the time. Not only did he cause an accident, but he left his car blocking the busiest intersection on the island and even pulled his kids out so the he could argue. What a Hoser, eh?

After sampling the beers at the brewery, Susan, Mark and I headed to the market for lunch and the rest of the group went over to Tony's Fish & Oyster House for shooters. Once back at the ship, we grabbed an afternoon meal and then regrouped to talk about the day before go back to our rooms to change for the nights formal dinner. Before heading to the dining room, we experienced something that should only happen in a Sci-fi movie. This was so frightening that I cannot even talk about it other then to say I never want to see a size small white shirt and Cuban cigar together again in my lifetime!

Dinner was another amazing feast and having Alan along as our resident wine expert just made the meal that much better.
